Show me another »How to see if Nvidia Optimus is working on games?
I have a brand new dell xps 17 with a 555m gt and I tried running Aion to test the GPU, and I was only getting 24 fps in the outdoors, without much going on, it was on the high recommend settings. but I feel like it should have been higher. pluss the game required me to download DirectX, my computer is 6 days old I wouldn't think that it would require a new directX....

Search "Device Manager" in the start menu and check to see if your graphics card is there, if it is then it is working and will be working on the games.
If that is the case something else is causing the low frame rate unless the frame rate is correct and you are just expecting more. Make sure you are not running to many background programs.
