Mcdonalds Scheduling issue at work?

I am currently working at Mcdonalds and I am going to be taking the act on Saturday from 8a-1p. I am schduled to work at mcds from 12-8p on Saturday. However, my Saturday current availability at mcds in only from 2-10pm. Nobody will cover my shift and they are running a policy right now where if you call in you will be fired and I have talked to three managers and none will help me out. I am so scared I might lose my job. Regardless I am taking the ACT on Saturday

I worked at McDonalds (in the uk btw) a while back, and im sure they need to give you three warnings or something and only then they can fire you, read your contract, that's what it said on mine, and im sure all McDonalds have the same rules. They told me once I would be fired if I don't attend my shift without informing them 3hours in advance, I had an emergency and didn't attend and didn't tell them either, I wasn't fired they had to follow procedure and give me a warning, check your contract, if that doesn't help phone the head of branch or someone superior to those stupid managers, I had a branch manager who I always phoned for help, hope that helps.

I cannot believe the managers will not help you.
The probably have NO IDEA you have to schedule this ahead of time and pay for it.
Have you mentioned this to them?
    Ignorant people. Purely ignorant.
They probably don't even know what an ACT test is.
Talk to them again and tell them its been paid for months in advance.
