I'm 38 weeks 4 days pregnant. I went to the hospital last night with what I thought were timeable contractions?
When I got hooked up the nurse told me what I was feeling was just baby movement over nerves....so why were they so timeable? and so strong?

Most likely you will know. But krista is wrong, contractions do not hurt everyone very badly in fact I know a lot of people who said they weren't that bad.

Baby is practicing to come out. Good sign. You will KNOW when you are in labor, there won't be a question. It is EXTREME and painful. When you're having a real contraction, you won't be able to talk through it. That's when I knew I needed to go to the hospital. I had to stop talking during every contraction and could barely breathe.

When I was having contractions the monitor never picked them up so they said it wasn't contractions. Turns out they were.
The monitor does a crappy job picking them up.
Especially if the nurse or medical assistant that put it on sucks at what they do.
