Weight gain jump in five days! Third trimester?

I started at 115 5'7. I am now 33 weeks and yesterday I weighed my self in the middle of the day and had gained 4 pounds since tuesday! I am at 141 now. My weight gain has been very steady and evened out. Tuesday I had to go in to labor and delivery for preterm labor and weighed 137. I did eat a few of my sons small candys yesterday maybe a little worst eating habits than usual, but could that really cause that much of a weight jump? I was on my feet a lot this week and my feet have been so sore, especially bad yesterday. They were swollen, not bad but enough that I noticed and my veins on them were bulging. Could it just be from retaining water? I really dont want to gain more than I am supposed to. Your thoughts and help are greatly appreciated.

Sounds to me like you just weighed yourself at the wrong time of day. Try weighing yourself first thing in the morning. I know right after breakfast where I eat cereal with milk and berries, water, and decaf coffee, I can easily weigh a 3-4 more pounds than first thing in the morning.
Or, like you said, you could be retaining fluids.
Try to weigh yourself first thing in the morning, limit salty foods, and drink plenty of water. I am sure it's nothing! I am assuming your BP is normal and there is no scare of pre-eclamp?

Your last month of pregnancy the baby usually gains about a pound a week. This is where you notice the big change in pregnancy is the last month or 2 of pregnancy. Stop worrying about your body an make sure you keep the baby growing. And a couple pieces of candy is not going to hurt you or your baby. Enjoy being pregnant not worrying how much weight your gaining. Mother of 7.
