What should I say? Should I text him?

Okay so there's this cute guy in my English class and I added him on Facebook and was like "Heyy, you're in my English class, right?" And he replied like a week or two later and was like "Yeah haha, that class sucks!" And it just doesn't seem like he gets on Facebook that much. I wrote him back saying "Yeah, I agree." then he didn't reply after like two days so I sent another message and was like "Heyy, do you text?" BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. How could I say something so AKWARD?!?! I mean I had a couple friends ask me that before just like that but Idk if I'm overanalyzing or what but I felt like I shouldn't have said that...But yeah, I told one of my good friends that I like him and she has his number so I was like can you give it to me and she was like "Yeah, sure." I told her "I don't want to be a creep or anything, but I just want his number haha." So yeah. Should I text him? I really don't want to make it sound like I'm a creep....And if you think I should text him, what should I say?

Yeah I'd say go for it. Just be like oh I meant to send that to another friend because she just got a phone or some lame excuse like that lol!
