Do you think a 16months old holds grudges?

My 16m old son had a boogie in his nose. It was very big and both nostrils had boogies. They were there for over 24 hours and hadn't come out from rinsing or while bathing..I thought he'd breathe better if they're cleared.
So I used saline spray then this thing that sucks the boogies out. I had to hold him down for 2 minutes approximately.
He was crying soo much even after I stopped. I know that he wont remember when he's older but for now..do yout think he's still upset about it?
This happened 2 days ago.. I feel like such a bad mum!! I'm NEVER going to try to clean his nose like that again ever!! :(((((

Additional Details

Tissue was the first thing I tried. The boogies were dry and stuck to his nostrils. I even tried ith my pinky but it wouldnt come out.
