Basically it is a supply and demand thing. If print a lot of money, it'll be worth less. And then you'll be in exactly the same position as before.

Because it's just paper tokens. Where's the stuff to buy? It doesn't exist, so the prices of what does climbs and you can't afford it anymore. That means it was taken from you who worked for it and given to someone who didn't.
That's all socialist government can do: take from some people and give to others. The problem is what makes people poor. Usually it comes from their lack of foresight. Until that's solved they will continually return for more money to take more from you.

The government actually does give poor people no taxes and in some cases, tax refunds. The government can't just make money out of no where, they have to get it from somewhere. Governments get most of their money from taxes or they borrow it from other countries. Now there are two problems with giving poor people a lot of government money. First of all, the government doesn't have any money left. We are already trillions and trillions in dept. If the fed prints more money something called inflation will happen where the value of each dollar bill drops rapidly. Inflation happened in Germany after WWI and a loaf of bread could cost as much as 1000. And the government still has to pay this money back. This means every one else has to pay super high tax rates, and our taxes are already high enough. But even really high taxes can't pay for all of it so high taxes will have to go on for a long time with having limited government programs. Now I'm not sure what would happen to the government if the deficit got too high, as if it isn't already, because we also have to pay off countries like China who have us money. It's kind of like taking money from the mob, because you have to pay it back. The second reason it's wrong is because it's disguised from what it really is, spreading the wealth and socialism. And the problem with that is it overrides the Constitution and creates unequal opportunity for people. I mean it you were poor, and the government would give you a paycheck for everything, why even work? Soon more people would join in. Eventually society would go so far out of control. People wouldn't be having jobs, and the government would be spending like crazy, but where do they get taxes from if there is hardly anyone getting an income? So the government has to extend it's control and force people into work. That's when communism starts. The government seizes control of all private companies and property to persuade people to do what it wants. It's a progressive downward spiral that would cost us our freedom of choice. So we shouldn't let any politician take our liberty or rights away.

The Republicans tried that a few years back. It didn't make a stitch of difference.

The government does not print money. The Federal Reserve prints money and lends it to the government. They want it back with interest. It would only increase the debt your taxes pay the interest on.

Stupid and greedy...yeah, that says it all. Absolutely. Stupid because of the over one trillion this crap healthcare bill will cost all of us. Greedy because they will have big bucks in their pockets, and out of ours. Yeah, this is really such a great administration!

If they do that, the value of the money goes down and we all become poorer except for the people who didn't have money to begin w/.
