Is El Paso, Texas vegan friendly?

Question

I am a vegan and I am also pregnant with a baby whom I am going to raise vegan. I have been offered a chance to move to El Paso in August and I am considering it. Is El Paso vegan friendly? As in, people who understand what being vegan means, actual vegans, vegan restaurants, etc.

I don't know about El Paso specifically, but I DO know that Texas has a very large, THRIVING vegan and animal rights community. I used to be a member of a social site (that just disappeared for some reason) called crueltyfree.com and there were SO many compassionate people from Texas. You probably won't have to look far at all. I think that meetup.com and veganforce.com might be able to help you see what the numbers are like.

edit: and then there's THIS site for "vegetarian" el paso...I think that they lean towards veganism...being that their logo is the vegan flower...
