Who has actually gotten through an american idol audition and what did you do to get through?

because i hear amazing singers dont get through....who gets through then?

I have a friend of a friend try out. She had to audition for 3 sets of 2 or 3 judges, and 10 hours later sang in front of Simon, etc. It never got shown on TV, but they didn't think AI was meant for her. She said they were nice though. :)

Its all the luck of the draw, in the Uk X factor here 6 of the Finalists had previously been turned away in previous yrs. If they want it they have to keep trying. whats meant to be will happen
