What should i do when i sprained my lower back?
Hey guys, how is it going? Today i was stretching my hamstrings for my volleyball finals tomorrow but I accidentally sprained my lower back. So, what I did is, i tightend my lower back with a bandage (those long things you get when you break your bone). It does feel like my back is secured and tight when i tighten my lower backwith a bandage but is this going to help me heal my lower back? Or make it worse?
If there is another way of healing my lower back, please tell me because that would be helpful to me. Thanks

Back injuries are tricky, and unfortunately can last many weeks. You are right to put a bandage on your lower back (around your abdomen, I assume). Limiting the range of motion of a strained muscle or muscle group helps with healing.
Also consider using a heat compress on your lower back in the evening, like a hot water bottle while you watch tv or do homework/web surfing.
And of course, be easy on it. Nothing makes an injury worse like exercise. Relax!
