Can I get Vitamin D benefits thru a glass window?
Terrible state of Washington had only 37 days of sunshine in 2007 so I need to know this.

If in doubt take Vitamin D supplements but make sure they are D3 and not D2. D2 is a synthetic form which does not have the same benefits. Living in the East of England I know what you mean.
Check the RDA but if you check with any of the groups that actually know about vitamins (just google 'vitamin D') the amount we're told to take is nowhere near enough to give the benefits or protection possible.

Not really, you need ultra violet light to convert cholesterol to vitamin D. Windows tend to filter out UV light. Think about taking supplements or move to Florida.
Okay, not Florida...further south is better for sun though.

Glass is a good filter for UV. Polycarbonate transmits UV. Change your windows!
