a good decorator will charge you enough to make it worth his/her while... a Polish decorator will charge you half, but you'll get half the paint for your money...

on average look to pay around the 200/250 quid per room for painting, the price can vary depending on how good your walls are and any making good that needs to be done like filling

and about 15/20 per roll for the wallpaper, but other factors such as how many windows and doors are in the room can effect the price but not by much, these just present obstacles that take a little longer to paper around

you should defiantly not be paying 500 quid as one poster has said that's a little high, if the walls are good and there's little prep to do expect a price of about 350/400, this is the price i would charge, and i do work in London, it should take 2 and a half days there abouts again depending on any prep work that needs to be done

it should only take one day to complete the living room and up to one for the papering - depending on the pattern of wallpaper.
if you are supplying all the paint and the paper, then would not pay more than £150 per room as not worth it. Ignore the comment on the Polish painters for half the paint, a ridiculous comment to make!
For such a small job, do it yourself. Take your time and you will get the same result.

your living room will take best part of a day for a decorater , so find a painter with the cheapest day rate. and any decent decorater will charge between 10 and 15 pound a roll to hang it.
